George, in No. Bergen on August 27, 2015, formerly of Palisades Park and Rutherford.
Born in Palisades Park to Jacob and Dorothea ( Schwaeble), where he lived until enlisting in the Navy.
Beloved husband to the late Dolly (Bobrowski)
He is survived by his Dear sister Dorothy ( Ruf) Martin, his nephews Brian and wife Darlene Martin, Wayne and wife Yvette Martin; Kirk and wife Michelle Martin and nieces, Barbara Longston and husband Kerry, Diane Solomon and husband Stephen and several great nieces and nephews.
George was a US Navy Veteran during WWII. During the War he raised and bred homing pigeons and was awarded a citation for having a pigeon fly the longest distance and return. He also was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Palisades Park, American Legion Post 109 Rutherford, Boiling Springs Masonic Lodge No. 152 F. & A.M. and the US Naval Memorial Foundation. He Loved sports and was an avid Yankee fan.
George was the former owner operator of the Corner Tavern in Palisades Park for many years. He later worked for Trailways Bus Company.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday 1:00pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home
19 Lincoln Ave. Rutherford. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.
Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4pm.
