Dear Furrer Family,
I am deeply sadden to hear of Arline's passing today, but find comfort in knowing she is with my Mom and her loving husband tonight. My mom Dorothy and Arline go as far back as I can remember. "The Girls" we always called the six friends. You can see in the photos attached that Arline was with my mom in high school at dances, wedding showers and so much more.
My brother's and I love to recall those special nights when we would fall asleep to the joyful sound of The Girls talking and laughing late into the night. Arline's cheerful voice and laugh even now are a sweet and vivid memory.
Can't count the number of times my mom told me about how your Mom met your Dad. Growing up I wanted to work for the FBI and so my mom told me the story of how your dad investigated Arline before she got the job at the FBI. Guess he really fell in love with her right away. What a great story!
When my brother got married, Arline was my roommate. We had a fun time and I remember thinking she was such a cool lady. Arline was so easy to talk with and a fast friend.
In later years, I visited her and she touched me even then with her joyful smile and warm laugh. Knowing I was considering a career change, Arline said so sincerely, "Why don't you try the FBI? You've got nothing to lose!" So optimistic and caring, so sweet and loving, your Mom will be forever remembered!!
May God bless you all in your sorrow now, and in time may you remember all the good times. That's what my mom kept telling us - remember the happy times.
Warmest sympathy - Mary Ellen
