Mania, CFSP, He earned his New Jersey Funeral Directors license in 1975, after graduating from The American Academy McAllister Institute of Mortuary Science, NYC in 1974. Prior to that he attended Bergen Community College and Don Bosco Tech. High School. Presently he is an independent funeral director and operates a Funeral Director Support Services business, offering a full range of professional services to independently owned Funeral Homes. Angelo's experience began with the Volk Funeral Homes, with branches in Teaneck, Bogota, Palisades Park and Oradell. After a short time he was selected to manage the Palisades Park location in 1976, at 26, the youngest non-owner manager in the State of NJ. As a manger, he handled all aspects of the business. During that time was appointed by Mayor and Council to the Free Public Library Board of Pal. Pk. He also served as a Founding Member and Trustee of the Palisades Park Homeowners Association, Past Pres. and Secretary of the Palisades Park UNICO and member of the Palisades Park Knights of Columbus Council 3550 as a third degree Knight. In 1994 he resigned his position as manager. Following his tenure with the Volk firm, he accepted a position for the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Homes of Lyndhurst and Fairfield, where he was involved in all aspects of the Funeral Home operation. He also assisted in re-designing the layout of the Lyndhurst and Fairfield facility. Following this, he was offered a position from the Mayfair Investment Corp. Wayne, NJ as Vice President of it's Funeral Home Acquisition Division. His role was primarily to develop a merger and acquisition formula that would position itself as a major influence in the new large funeral industry merger craze in early 1990's. In conjunction with this position he also took charge of one of Mayfair's holdings, The Quirk-Lardier Funeral Homes in Englewood, Tenafly and Bergenfield, as Vice Pres, and General Manager. Mayfair found itself it a financial downturn and was forced to close it's funeral home division. At present he persues his own business, AGM Funeral Services, Inc. Angelo is married to Debra (Delle Chiaie) and has two Children, Anthony & Matthew and resides in Pompton Plains. Angelo also holds current memberships in The National Funeral Directors Association, New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association, Bergen County Funeral Directors Association, The British Institute of Embalmers and the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, The Funeral Directors Ethics Assoc.-Manual of Professional Practice. He also is a private Pilot holding a single and multi engine instrument ratings and is a member of (AOPA)the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. As of April 2010, Walter Calhoun Jr. has placed care and management of daily operations of the Funeral Home to Angelo G. Mania, CFSP (Academy Certified Funeral Service Practitioner )who has been with the Calhoun “Family Of Service” since 1996. As manager of the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home , he applies all his experience to continue to build upon the this 126 year legacy and improve this firms estabilshed position in Rutherford and surrounding communities. |
