A precious friend
In a restaurant when she could hardly stand, the lively chacha beat perked her up, and she gathered strength to dance with one of the waiters Our past comes back gradually but clear, when we shared the nothing or the plenty that we had and the secrets we could only confess to a precious friend..
Annie was a good jewelry artisan. I was looking at the necklaces and other items she made for me, the metronome she and Frank gifted me when I bought the piano in New York, the handbags, the deluxe scrabble set, the Wi CDs from Jackie, and Jackie's painting, She was a good handywoman. She assembled the glass cabinet of the five-piece Fisher stereo set in New York and the Wi here in Costa Rica. To my dismay, I cannot find the clipping I kept of our picture that was featured in "La Nacion.". I have all these things in my possession as living reminders but what is more precious is the memory of our past: the weekend meals, the shopping, the handicrafts sessions, the scrabble battles, the musical duets, and the sharing of what happened and what was happening in the lives we lived and were living.
